FAQ’S

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our products or processes at the company.

How long has B&G been operating?
For more than three decades, we have been designing and manufacturing intercom, public address, and siren systems in Colombia.
What is the difference between a "vehicle intercom" and a "window intercom"?
Although both use the word "intercom", they address different needs. The vehicle line (PW, Civilian, EQ-100A) is installed in a vehicle and combines siren, lights, and exterior communication. The window line (LTG, LTC, LTR, LTL Plus) is designed for a fixed service point, such as a checkout or service module, where a person inside communicates with another person outside through a window. If you tell us where your equipment will operate, we can guide you toward the right line.
Which sectors does B&G work with?
We work with private and armored vehicles, institutional motorcycles, and companies and institutions in sectors such as healthcare, banking, education, entertainment, government, and others.
Do you ship to other countries?
Yes. We have specialized foreign trade and international logistics personnel to manage the shipment of your order outside Colombia.
Is the installation invasive to my vehicle?
The vehicle-mounted units in the PW line do not require connection to the accessory wiring: they connect directly to the battery.
Is the installation invasive for my point of service?
For windows, some references are installed by drilling through the glass, while others are installed adhesively, without drilling.
Do you handle the installation, or do you explain it to me so I can do it myself?
We have trained technical support staff to install directly or guide you remotely.
How long does delivery of my equipment take?
Standard products are usually delivered in less than 5 days, depending on the quantity requested. Special or customized projects have a delivery time defined according to the scope of the requirement.
When does the warranty for my equipment start?
The warranty starts counting from the date recorded on your purchase invoice.
What does my product’s warranty cover and what does it not cover?
The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the equipment. It does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, or external physical damage to the product. Always retain your purchase invoice, as it is required to validate the warranty. Each specific product model may include variations in this warranty.
My equipment stopped working, what should I do?
Contact us through the channel you normally use and indicate the category your equipment belongs to (Business, Vehicle, Motorcycles), the product line it belongs to, the model, and how it is installed and operating. With that information, we will direct you straight to the technical support department.
Are Sales and Technical Support the same channel?
We manage separate channels for sales and technical support. If you write to the sales channel about a support issue, or to the support channel about a sales matter, we will redirect you to the correct area without you having to restart the conversation.
How long does it take to respond when I write or leave my information?
We prioritize responding during business hours, even when the customer is in a country with a significant time difference from Colombia.
Do you sell replacement parts or individual components if something gets damaged?
Yes. By manufacturing our own equipment, we have original spare parts and accessories available—something that other brands on the market do not always offer.
Can the PW equipment drain my battery if it is left on?
No. The entire PW line features ASD (Automatic Shut Down), an intelligent automatic shutdown that prevents the equipment from draining your battery.
Does the PW line need the vehicle accessory cable to operate?
No. PW line equipment is not invasive: it connects directly to the vehicle’s battery, without passing through the accessory wiring.
Can I choose the sound of my siren?
Yes. Your equipment comes with 7 different sounds —Chirp, Phaser, Manual Wail, Wail, Hi-Lo, Horn B&G and American Horn, and you can switch between them and save the one you prefer.
Why is there a beeping sound or echo (feedback) when using the microphone?
It occurs when audio from the external speaker feeds back into the microphone, generally because a window or door is open or the vehicle does not have sufficient sound insulation for the power of the equipment. It is corrected by calibrating the volume with the windows up and doors closed, ideally in an open space.
Does the intercom volume adjust automatically?
Yes, in several of our models, the internal volume is automatically reduced after a period of inactivity and rises again as soon as your voice activates the microphone, preventing the sound from remaining loud all day unnecessarily.
What is the difference between a window intercom and a paging system?
The window intercom solves two-way conversation at a single service point. The paging system (1VOX-4U) is designed to broadcast announcements and messages to multiple zones of a facility simultaneously, such as a school, shopping center, or plant.
Does the paging system integrate with the network or equipment I already have installed?
Yes, and that is why we always review the network and the equipment you already operate before defining the final configuration, to ensure compatibility with what you already have in your installation.
Is B&G a manufacturer or importer?
We manufacture every piece of equipment at our own facility in Colombia. We do not assemble or resell third-party products: we design, produce, and certify everything in-house, enabling us to stand behind the quality and support of every unit that leaves our factory.
What certifications support your products?
Our equipment complies with international standards such as IPC-A-610 and CE/EMC depending on the product.
